Tottenham launch Virtual Mascot Programme for kids missing out on mascot experience

Tottenham Hotspur, in partnership with Kumho Tyre, have launched the Virtual Mascot Programme for the benefit of the Juniors who will miss out on the mascot experience for the club’s remaining home matches. (h/t TottenhamHotspur.com)

Walking out on the field alongside stars is a surreal experience for kids. But due to the current circumstances, mascots will not be allowed during matches. And in order to make up for the experience that the Juniors will be missing out on Tottenham have come up with this initiative.

As per the initiative, all Juniors confirmed as mascots for the remaining home matches will be made a virtual mascot for the rearranged matches. They will also be guaranteed a mascot place when it is safe for fans to return to the stadium.

Each mascot will be receiving a a full replica kit in a stylish Kumho Tyre presentation box, a letter from superstar Harry Kane, along with a Spurs flag and lots of other goodies.

In addition, pictures of all virtual mascots will be included in the club’s matchday programme with a short bio, while their names will also be read out during the pre-match coverage.

Furthermore, as the teams walk out on the pitch, images of each virtual mascot will be displayed on the giant screen at the stadium. To round off this unique experience, each mascot will receive a digital certificate from the club as well.

While it will not match the experience of walking out alongside their favourite players in front of a raucous crowd, the club’s initiative to make up for it needs to be lauded.
