Juan Foyth set to join Leeds United on loan this summer
According to a report from Argentine sports journalist Nicolas Bozza (h/t Leeds Live) Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth is all set to join Leeds United on loan in the summer.
Foyth, 22, arrived at Tottenham in the summer of 2017 from Argentine outfit Estudiantes. However, he has struggled to establish himself in the first-team at the club. Having made just 32 first-team appearances so far, the Argentine has found game time hard to come by under Jose Mourinho.
Indeed, since the Portuguese took over the reins at the club, Foyth has featured just three times in all competitions. The emergence of Japhet Tanganga has only served to push the Argentine down the pecking order at the club.
This has seen him get heavily linked with an exit from the club. Leeds United are one of the clubs that have been credited with strong interest in the Argentine international.
And now, as per latest reports, the 22-year-old is all set to join the Championship leaders on a season-long loan deal.
Given Foyth’s current standing at Tottenham, it makes sense for the club to allow him to leave on loan. Clearly not in the plans of Mourinho at the moment, regular game time at another experienced manager like Marcelo Bielsa would only help him develop faster.

Moreover, with Leeds likely to earn promotion to the Premier League, Foyth will continue to compete in the top flight, which should be good for his growth.
However, it is still too early to say whether the move will go through as the report suggests. If it does, it will be a win-win situation for all parties involved.
