Tottenham star Giovani Lo Celso struggling for fitness ahead of Manchester United clash
Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is struggling for fitness ahead of the club’s first game on resumption of the Premier League against Manchester United, manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed. (h/t Football.london)
Concerns over Lo Celso’s fitness have been doing the rounds for quite some time now. While the fears had been allayed somewhat after the club shared a picture of him in training, Mourinho has confirmed that he remains an injury concern heading into Friday’s game. (h/t Football.london)
“Yes. I can confirm that. Gio, I consider to be one of the victims of the rules and one of the victims of the protocols, because he was injured in the end of the period before the coronavirus situation.”
Mourinho did insist that he expects the Argentine to be available for the game, although him starting is an unlikely possibility.
“Available for tomorrow, yes I think so. Tomorrow morning we will test if he is going to play 90 minutes. Is he going to start the game, I don’t know but a difficult process for him.”
Fans weren’t pleased by the news, given how impressive Lo Celso has been in his debut season for us. Here’s how some of the supporters reacted to the update from the boss.
