Paul Robinson tips Jose Mourinho to sell Tottenham star Tanguy Ndombele
In an interview with Football Insider (h/t Express), former Tottenham Hotspur star Paul Robinson has tipped manager Jose Mourinho to offload Tanguy Ndombele in order to raise transfer funds.
Ndombele joined Tottenham in a club-record deal last summer, but has failed to make the desired impact. While the 23-year-old began in fine fashion, bagging a goal on debut, he has struggled to build upon that, with injuries not helping his cause.
Things got worse for Ndombele since Jose Mourinho took over the reins of the club back in November. The Portuguese has used the midfielder sparingly and has been critical of his performances in the media.
Ndombele hasn’t featured for Tottenham since his disastrous outing against Burnley back in March. While he is fully fit now, Mourinho has opted not to use the former Lyon man in our two matches since the resumption of the season.
In the aftermath of this, reports in France claimed that Ndombele had vowed not to play under Mourinho ever again. While the manager has dismissed these speculations of a rift, things are increasingly looking bleak for the midfielder at Tottenham.
In addition, with the club in need of transfer funds to secure new signings with finances affected by the coronavirus, former Spurs man Robinson has tipped Mourinho to cash in on Ndombele. (h/t Express)
“The last two games Jose has had a fully fit squad to choose from and Ndombele has not played a minute. Spurs have been quite public about how the current financial situation has hit them as a club. Ndombele could be a player that Mourinho disposes of to raise money and strengthen elsewhere.”
