Former Tottenham star Vincent Janssen tests positive for coronavirus
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen has revealed on his Twitter account that he has been tested positive for coronavirus.
The 26-year-old Janssen joined Tottenham in 2016, from Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar. But the forward endured a torrid time in North London. He made just 42 appearances for us, managing a paltry total of six goals and four assists.
Janssen spent the 2017/18 season out on loan at Fenerbahce, before leaving Tottenham for Mexican outfit Monterrey in the summer of 2019. He has fared decently for his new club, bagging 11 goals and 2 assists in 32 matches.
Last Thursday, Monterrey had announced that they had conducted 50 tests, out of which one had come out positive. Janssen, on Monday, confirmed that it was him who had caught the virus. The 26-year-old Dutchman posted a statement on social media, which read:
“Hello All. First of all I want to say that I feel fine. My test result for Covid-19 was positive. I am at home taking care to be back as soon as possible with my teammates. Thanks to everyone.”
