Ryan Fraser will snub Tottenham reckons Paul Robinson

In an interview with Football Insider (h/t Football.london), former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson has claimed that transfer target Ryan Fraser is likely to snub the North London outfit.

Fraser became a free agent on Tuesday after his contract with Bournemouth expired. The 26-year-old had refused to pen a short-term extension with the club to see the extended campaign through. Now that he is unattached, a host of clubs are eyeing a move for the Scottish winger.

Among the clubs interested are Tottenham Hotspur. The links between Spurs and Fraser aren’t new, with reports of interest emerging since a couple of months ago.

The Scottish international, given his proven Premier League pedigree and his age, would have been a good addition to our ranks. More so considering his free agent status. His signing would have added some valuable depth on the flanks, while his ability to play as a wing-back would have come in handy as well.

However, former Spurs ace Paul Robinson reckons that Fraser wouldn’t choose Tottenham as regular playing time might not be guaranteed at the club. (h/t Football.london)

“Ryan Fraser is 26. He is entering his peak so he will want to play. I question whether he would, at Spurs. Is Mourinho going to use him as a full-back? With Serge Aurier and Ben Davies, I struggle to see where he fits in.”

Recent reports claimed that fellow Premier League club Everton are interested in his signing and the Scotsman too preferred a move to Goodison Park. It remains to be seen if the club is able to convince him to decide otherwise in the coming days.
