Eric Dier rubbishes rumours of Tottenham players’ rift with Jose Mourinho
As reported by the Mirror, Tottenham star Eric Dier has brushed off rumours claiming that manager Jose Mourinho has lost the support of the dressing room, calling the speculations crazy.
Mourinho took over the reins at the club in November last year after Mauricio Pochettino was sacked following a poor start to the season. Things began well under the mercurial Portuguese, but the form has dipped since the turn of the year.
While it didn’t help matters that we kept losing one star player after another to injuries, the team has often looked unconvincing under Jose. Spurs have picked up just one win in nine matches across all competitions.
The 3-1 defeat to Sheffield United last week all but ended any hopes of Champions League football for next season. And if the results don’t improve in the next few games, we may end up without Europa League as well next term.
The current form, Mourinho’s confrontational style of management and his treatment of record signing Tanguy Ndombele have all contributed to speculations that he has already lost the dressing room. (h/t Mirror)
However, Dier has refuted any such claims, dubbing them as crazy and ridiculous. (beIN Sports h/t Mirror)
“That’s just the world we live in nowadays. I think it’s kind of crazy. We’ve been together a very short period of time. We’ve gone through circumstances which no one could foresee. There have been many obstacles to overcome and we hope that those things will bring us closer together. Those kind of comments are just ridiculous really.”

It is true that the circumstances have hardly been favourable for Mourinho. The Portuguese definitely needs time to get things in order and given his track record, he certainly has what it takes to turn things around.
