Tottenham €10m short of AS Roma’s valuation of Nicolo Zaniolo
According to journalist and transfer expert Nicolo Schira, Tottenham Hotspur are currently €10m short of AS Roma’s valuation for star man Nicolo Zaniolo.
Zaniolo has grown into one of the most promising young attacking midfielders in the Serie A, since his switch from Inter Milan to AS Roma back in 2018. The Italian has grown into a key member of the team, while also breaking into the national team as well.
Even though Zaniolo has endured an injury-hit 2019/20 campaign, the 21-year-old has still managed to make a telling impact for Roma, contributing with seven goals and two assists from 28 matches across all competitions.
Tottenham have been linked with a switch for the five-time capped Italian international for quite some time now.
And now, Schira has claimed that Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is very much intent on signing the 21-year-old this summer. However, a mismatch of valuations between the two clubs could prove to be a hindrance.
As per the journalist, AS Roma want a transfer fee between €60m and €70m for Zaniolo. However, Tottenham are currently prepared to offer €50m only. This €10m difference could prohibit the transfer from going through, amid Inter from Serie A champions Juventus.
Zaniolo, given the potential that he has shown, would be a great addition to our ranks. Able to play as a No. 10 or on the flanks, as well as a No.8, the 21-year-old brings immense versatility and quality to the table.
Josè #Mourinho wants Nicolò #Zaniolo. #Tottenham are ready to offer €50M #ASRoma (ask €60-70M to sell him) for the italian midfielder. #Juventus are really interested in him and #Inter are looking (they have 15% on a future fees) the event. #transfers #THFC
