AS Roma boss Paulo Fonseca rules out Nicolo Zaniolo sale
As reported by reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, AS Roma manager Paulo Fonseca has insisted that Tottenham target Nicolo Zaniolo remains a key part of the team and will not be sold this summer.
The 21-year-old Zaniolo has grown into one of the best youngsters in the Serie A since joining Roma from Inter Milan in 2018. After having had an impressive debut campaign at the capital club, the attacking midfielder has caught the eyes of the onlookers once again with a series of impressive displays.
Despite struggling with injuries, Zaniolo has managed to score seven goals and create two more for his teammates so far in 2019/20. This has led to interest in him from Tottenham Hotspur. It was earlier claimed that Spurs were willing to offer as much as €50m for the versatile attacker, which was €10m less than Roma’s valuation.
However, as per the latest update, Roma boss Fonseca has claimed that the Italian international will not be sold this summer, given that he remains an integral part of the team.
“We don’t want to sell Nicolò Zaniolo this summer. He’s part of our project.”
Journalist Romano further goes on to add that negotiations between Tottenham and Roma had never even started. He then also claims that there are no chances whatsoever that a transfer will take place this summer.
