Leeds United keen on re-signing Danny Rose
According to a report from the Daily Star, newly-promoted Premier League side Leeds United are interesting in signing Tottenham defender Danny Rose in the summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old Rose came through the academy at Leeds United. But he was sold by the Whites to Tottenham in 2007, after the club went into administration. Since making the move to Tottenham, the Englishman has grown into one of the best left-backs in the country.
However, his form has declined in recent seasons, while he has also fallen out of favour at Tottenham. The England international hardly featured after Jose Mourinho took over the reins back in November. Soon, he was loaned out to Newcastle United during the winter transfer window.
Rose was able to get regular game time at St. James’ Park, but hardly made a solid impression. In spite of that, the Magpies remain interested in making his transfer permanent, with reports claiming that the club are set to enter talks with Daniel Levy over a transfer fee.
Rose, too, has insisted that he wants to move to the Tyneside outfit on a permanent basis in the summer. However, Leeds United have now entered the fray as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of their long-awaited return to the Premier League. (h/t Daily Star)
The Whites won the EFL Championship to return to the top flight after a 16-year wait. And they believe that a chance to return to his boyhood club would appeal to Rose. (h/t Daily Star)
