Leicester City, West Brom join Tottenham in Vedat Muriqi pursuit
According to a report from Turkish outlet Aksam (h/t Leicestershire Live), Leicester City have entered the race to sign Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi, who has been linked with a summer switch to Tottenham and West Brom.
The 26-year-old Muriqi joined Fenerbahce only last summer and has made quite the impact in his debut campaign at the club. The Kosovan striker has plundered 17 goals and assisted 7 more in 36 appearances across all competitions in 2019/20.
His exploits for the Turkish giants have put him on the radars of a number of clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur. It is well-known that Spurs lack a backup option for star striker Harry Kane.
The 26-year-old England captain picked up a serious injury in January earlier this year, which left the club’s lack of cover exposed. That is something that the club needs to address at the earliest possible.
Muriqi, to that end, would be a more than handy addition to the squad. A typical target man, the Kosovan international would fit in well in Jose Mourinho’s setup. And he has been in fine form over the past couple of years as well.
However, we will have to stave off competition from Leicester City, who are also vying for the striker’s signature. Along with the Foxes, newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion are also keen on signing the Fenerbahce forward in the current transfer window.

Muriqi still has three years left on his current contract with Fenerbahce. As per the report, Muriqi is valued at €20m by the Turkish giants.
It remains to be seen if Tottenham make a move to land the striker, who has scored eight goals in 23 matches for Kosovo.
