Jamal Lewis intent on securing Liverpool transfer
According to a report from The Athletic, Norwich City defender Jamal Lewis, who had been linked with Tottenham in the past, is intent on joining Premier League champions Liverpool this summer.
The 22-year-old Lewis came through the youth ranks at Norwich and has become a regular member of the first-team in the past couple of years. He played an integral role in the club’s promotion-winning 2018/19 campaign.
And while the club have dropped back to the Championship after a disappointing 2019/20 season, Lewis was one of the few positives for the Canaries. He may have managed just the solitary goal in 28 Premier League matches, but the left-back has impressed with his all-round game.
This had seen Lewis get linked with a move to Tottenham earlier this year. At the moment, Spurs just have Ben Davies as the only senior left-back in the squad. Ryan Sessegnon, in his debut season, has been used sparingly and in a more attacking role, while Danny Rose’s future lies away from the club.
So, investing in a new left-back with potential like Lewis this summer would have been a good move by the club. However, as per the latest report from The Athletic, the Northern Ireland international has his heart set on a switch to Premier League champions Liverpool.
In fact, the Reds are readying an offer of £10m for the youngster, although Norwich are holding out for a transfer fee of £20m for their prized asset. (h/t The Athletic)

Lewis is not the only Norwich player linked with Tottenham. His full-back partner Max Aarons has also emerged as a target for Jose Mourinho. However, it remains to be seen if the club does make a move for the Englishman.
