Wolves make an approach for Tottenham target Max Aarons

According to a report from Football Insider (h/t Birmingham Live), Tottenham will face competition from PL rivals Wolves in the race to sign Max Aarons, with the Midlands outfit making an approach for the Norwich City star.

The 20-year-old Aarons emerged as one of the few positives in a disappointing campaign that ended in relegation for Norwich City. The England U-21 international finished the season with two assists from 36 appearances in the Premier League.

Aarons has been heavily linked with a switch to Tottenham for some time now. The right-back situation at our club is quite dire at the moment. Having let Kieran Trippier leave last summer, we were left with just Serge Aurier as the senior right-back.

Kyle Walker-Peters, on the other hand, was loaned out in January to Southampton and is now on the verge of completing a permanent move to St. Mary’s. In addition, Aurier is also being linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, amidst interest from AC Milan.

So, bringing in a new right-back should be a top priority for the club in the ongoing transfer window. Aarons, to that end, would be a good addition to the squad.

However, we will now have to battle with Wolves in order to land the England youth international. The Midlands outfit are ready to launch a move for the 20-year-old. This despite Tottenham making good progress in their bid to land the defender. (h/t Birmingham Live)

Having been able to reach an agreement with Southampton for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, the club now needs to turn their attention towards closing other deals. Hopefully, we are able to clinch the signing of Aarons sooner rather than later.
