Tottenham enter Said Benrahma chase

According to a report from the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign Brentford winger Said Benrahma, who is also a target for Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham United.

The Algerian winger joined Brentford in the summer of 2018 from French club Nice and has been a huge success story with the Bees. Having made a huge impact in his debut season in the Championship, he was one of the best players in the second division in 2019/20, as he helped Brentford to the playoff finals.

However, with the club failing to earn promotion to the Premier League, he could now be on his way out of the club this summer, as he desires to play top-tier football. (h/t Mirror)

Both Chelsea and Arsenal have been linked with Benrahma for quite some time now. But now, Tottenham too have entered the race for the 24-year-old. (h/t Mirror)

While Jose Mourinho has a number of options in the wide areas in the attacking third, there are some concerns over the form of the likes of Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela. Moura, especially, failed to make any sort of impact in front of goal for most of the second half of the season.

So, adding someone like Benrahma, who has had a prolific campaign, during which he scored 17 goals and set up 10 more, would be a great addition to the squad.

Brentford had slapped a £25m price tag on their star man, but could be forced to sell for just £16m, having missed out on promotion.

But given the competition for his signature, the club will need to act fast if we are to secure the Algerian international’s signing in the ongoing transfer window.
