Tottenham to ramp up pursuit of Callum Wilson
According to a report from the Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur will now turn their attention towards Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, after finalising a deal for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The North London outfit have reportedly agreed a move for Hojbjerg with Southampton, with the midfielder set to pen a five-year deal and complete his medical next week.
With Jose Mourinho’s primary transfer target on his way to the club, Tottenham will now turn their focus towards signing a striker to provide cover for Harry Kane. (h/t Daily Star)
It is no secret that the club struggled in the injury-enforced absence of the England captain during the second half of the season. So, securing a new centre-forward to provide cover and add competition should be a priority for the club.
To that end, the Tottenham management seem to have narrowed down upon Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson as a target. The Englishman has been with the Cherries since 2014 and has been a consistent source of goals for them year after year.
However, the 28-year-old did not have the best of the seasons last time out, finishing with just 8 goals in 35 Premier League outings, as Bournemouth ended up getting relegated.

Wilson still has three years left on his contract with Bournemouth. They want a transfer fee of around £20m for the 28-year-old. But Tottenham believe the player is keen to join them and that a compromise can be reached. (h/t Daily Star)
Along with us, West Ham United and Newcastle United are also keen on signing the England international. So, the club will need to act fast and close the deal for Wilson.
