Tottenham Hotspur make enquiry for Ivan Perisic

According to a report from FCInterNews (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in signing Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic this summer and have made an enquiry for the Croatian.

The 31-year-old Perisic is currently out on loan at Bayern Munich and has had a fruitful campaign. So far in 33 matches across all competitions, the winger has come up with an impressive return of eight goals and ten assists.

While he has impressed for the German champions, they are not intent on making his transfer permanent. And with him not being a part of plans at Inter Milan, the Croatian should be on the move this summer. And, as per the report, Tottenham are among the clubs interested in signing the 31-year-old. It is no secret that Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of the Croatian international. In fact, the Portuguese tactician had tried to sign Perisic when he was in charge at Manchester United a couple of years back. (h/t Football.london)

While we have a number of options in the wide areas currently, it must be noted that Lucas Moura did not have the best of the seasons, with the Brazilian struggling to make an impact in front of goal, especially in the second half of the season.

And given that we will be competing on four fronts, having adequate squad depth would be of paramount importance. So, signing someone of Perisic’s quality and experience would be a good move by the club.
