Jose Mourinho has hailed new signings Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart
As reported by the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has hailed the signings of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart as ‘amazing business’ by the club, after their friendly win over Ipswich Town.
Tottenham kickstarted their pre-season with a comfortable 3-0 win against the lower league side on Friday, courtesy a brace from Son Heung-min and a Ryan Sessegnon strike.
Both Hojbjerg and Hart made their debuts on Friday, with the former featuring for a little over an hour, while Hart was on the field for thirty minutes. And speaking after the game, Mourinho claimed that the club had done amazingly to seal the deal for the duo. (h/t Daily Mail)
“I think the club did amazing in both because they are going to make our squad stronger. With some of the crazy fixtures we are going to have, playing all the competitions, the Carabao Cup at the same time as Europa League and Premier League, even goalkeepers cannot play every match so it is very, very good business for us.”
The manager seemed particularly impressed by the club’s deal to land Hojbjerg for as little as £15m from Southampton and heaped praise on chairman Daniel Levy. (h/t Daily Mail)
“The club found very intelligently the moment to do it. It was the last year of contract for Pierre, his club was in a difficult situation in terms of negotiation so I think Mr Levy did amazing for us getting such a good player for us.”
"I think we took some good steps forward but we still have a lot to do."

The signings of Hojbjerg and Hart have ensured a positive start to the transfer window for us. However, with less than three weeks left for the new season to start, the club must work on securing other deals at the earliest possible.
