Tottenham interested in Ivan Rakitic
According to the Daily Mail (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic, who could be sold by the Catalans this summer.
The 32-year-old Croatian has been with Barcelona since 2014, having made the switch from fellow La Liga side Sevilla. He has been an integral member of the success that the Blaugrana have tasted over the last half a decade or so.

However, Rakitic has fallen out of favour over the past year or so, starting just 16 La Liga matches in the season gone by. And with major changes afoot at Barcelona, it is claimed that the 2018 FIFA World Cup finalist will be one among a bevy of stars to be shown the door this summer. (h/t Football.london)
And, as per the report, Tottenham are one among the three Premier League clubs keen on signing the 32-year-old, along with rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.
It is claimed that Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy sees Rakitic as the ideal short-term replacement for Christian Eriksen, who left the club in the January transfer window.
At the same time, Jose Mourinho’s admiration for the midfielder is no secret. The Portuguese tactician has been vocal in his praise of the Croatian in the past and may make a beeline for the 32-year-old should he be available.

Rakitic is a proven performer at the highest level and his years of experience would certainly aide our side. With his contract expiring in less than a year and Barcelona keen on selling, we might be able to get him on the cheap as well.
As far as short-term fixes go, till we are able to get solid in our finances, the Croatian might represent a decent addition. It, however, remains to be seen if the club does act on the interest in Rakitic.
