QPR boss issues update on future of Eberechi Eze
Speaking to Sky Sports, QPR manager Mark Warburton has issued an update on the future of star attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze, who has been linked with Tottenham in the past.
Having started out at the academy of our rivals Arsenal, the youngster spent time with Fulham, Reading and Millwall, before joining QPR in 2017.
After a loan spell away at Wycombe Wanderers, Eze became a regular in the first-team at Loftus Road. The youngster has enjoyed a sensational 2019/20 campaign, finishing with a more than impressive return of 14 goals and 8 assists in 46 matches in the Championship.
The 22-year-old Eze had been on the radars of Tottenham for a while now. It had even been claimed that manager Jose Mourinho was intent on capturing the signing of the 22-year-old Englishman.
As per Sky Sports, the likes of Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Fulham are also in the running to land the Englishman. And Warburton has hinted that the attacking midfielder might be on his way out, after dropping him from QPR’s friendly against AFC Wimbledon this past weekend. (h/t Sky Sports)
“He’s a QPR player but there are a few bits and pieces going on. What we have to do is just respect that and look after a guy who has come through the ranks here. And he’s one of ours.”
The Hoops’ manager then went on to claim that should the club’s valuation be met, they will not stand in the way of the player if he desires to leave. (h/t Sky Sports)

The report from Sky Sports does not mention any interest from Tottenham though, which could hint at the possibility that the club might have dropped out of the race for Eze.
However, Warburton does seem to be hinting at an exit. So, it does seem like the 22-year-old could be on his way to the Premier League. Hopefully, we don’t come to regret passing up on the Englishman.
