Tottenham make contact for Donny van de Beek
According to Spanish publication Sport (h/t Daily Mail), Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with Dutch giants Ajax over the possibility of signing Donny van de Beek. However, the 23-year-old is waiting on offer from Barcelona.
Van de Beek has established one of the most coveted midfielders in Europe, after brilliant performances in the past couple of seasons. A midfielder who can play in multiple roles in the centre and possessing a keen eye for a goal, the 23-year-old has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, Tottenham and Manchester United. Barcelona had made an approach for the 23-year-old last summer, but no move had materialised. In the meantime, it was claimed that Real Madrid had reached an agreement to sign Van de Beek. Given the amount of interest in Van de Beek, it is unlikely that we will be able to sign him this summer. More so, considering that Ajax are demanding £50m for the Dutchman and the player himself has his heart set on a transfer to Barcelona.
