Tottenham willing to meet Callum Wilson wage demands
According to the Express, Tottenham are willing to agree to the £75,000-a-week wage demands made by Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, but will have to sell players before signing new ones.
The 28-year-old England international has been with linked with a move to Tottenham for a while now. Apart from Spurs, the likes of Newcastle United have also shown an interest in the striker, along with newly-promoted Fulham. (h/t Express)
It was even claimed that Newcastle were the favourites to land Wilson this summer. However, the England international is demanding wages of £75,000-a-week, which the Magpies are unable to offer. (h/t Express)
Tottenham, though, are willing to meet his demands. However, for us to make an attempt to land Wilson, there need to be sales made from the club. (h/t Express)
Jose Mourinho has made two signings thus far, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg arriving from Southampton, while Joe Hart was signed on a free transfer. A third transfer is on the horizon, with Matt Doherty close to joining in £12m deal.
But a new striker remains a priority for Mourinho & co. And rightly so, considering how our form declined in the absence of Harry Kane last season. With no proper backup for the England captain, the results took a beating. And, a new striker is a must if we are to avoid a similar fate this time out as well.
Wilson, to that end, is Mourinho’s preferred option. In fact, it is claimed that the Portuguese has been tracking the 28-year-old for a while now. However, given the club’s financial condition, a move for him can only be funded after players have been sold. (h/t Express)

Wilson would be the ideal backup option for us. While he did not have the most productive campaign last time out, the 28-year-old has experience in the Premier League and has proven himself at this level before. It, now, remains to be seen if the club is able to close the deal for the 28-year-old.
