Watford will not stand in the way of Troy Deeney transfer
According to the Daily Mail, EFL Championship side Watford will not stand in the way of captain Troy Deeney, who has been linked with Tottenham, if he wants to leave the club this summer.
Deeney came through the youth ranks at Walsall and had a loan spell at Halesowen, before joining Watford in 2010. Till date, he has featured 398 times for the Hornets, scoring 139 goals and setting up 59 more.
One of their top performers year after year, Deeney battled with injuries during the 2019/20 campaign. But, he still managed to contribute with 10 goals and 2 assists in 27 Premier League outings.
A recent report by the Express and Star claimed that Tottenham Hotspur had shown an interest in the 32-year-old English forward. Along with Spurs, newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion are also believed to keen.
And now, it is being claimed that Watford will let Deeney leave this summer, if he wants an exit, provided the club receives an offer that meets their valuation. (h/t Daily Mail)
Alternatively, the Hornets would also be open to the idea of letting their captain leave on a season-long loan deal, with him returning to the club should they achieve promotion to the Premier League. (h/t Daily Mail)

Deeney, in a recent interview, claimed that he still considers himself as Premier League material, having done fairly well despite struggling with injuries last term.
Tottenham are in desperate need of a new striker to provide cover for star forward Harry Kane. And while Deeney might not be the most high profile name, his experience at this level could work in our favour. It remains to be seen if the club do act on the interest now that Watford are willing to let him leave.
