Tottenham Hotspur to loan out goalkeeper Brandon Austin
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to send highly-rated England U-21 goalkeeper Brandon Austin on loan for the upcoming season.
The 21-year-old Austin started out at the Chelsea academy, before switching to Tottenham. The youngster has progressed at an impressive rate through the youth ranks at the club.
Till date, Austin has turned out 36 times for Spurs’ U23 outfit, keeping five clean sheets in the process. However, he is yet to make a senior appearance for the North London giants. But, he did make it to the bench in four Premier League matches in the season gone by.
He was called up to the England U21 side by Aidy Boothroyd last year, following which he joined Danish outfit Viborg FF on loan in January. During his time at the club, he featured 14 times, keeping one clean sheet.
Back at Tottenham, Austin has been training with the first-team. However, following the arrival of Joe Hart, competition for places is intense with Hugo Lloris, Paulo Gazzaniga and Hart all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Thus, manager Jose Mourinho is keen on the youngster going out on loan for a season and getting valuable minutes under his belt. (h/t Daily Mail)
