Ligue 1 club president warns Tottenham that 18-year-old Malian prospect will not be sold
Tottenham warned Reims starlet El Bilal Toure will not be sold this summer
As reported by RMC Sport (h/t Football.london), Jean-Pierre Caillot, the president of Ligue 1 club Reims, has claimed that Tottenham target El Bilal Toure will not be sold this summer.
The 18-year-old striker started at the Ivoire Academy before spending four years at the Afrique Football Elite academy. He signed for Reims in Janaury earlier this year and has already made quite the impression. Till date, Toure has netted four goals and set up one more in 11 appearances. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The Malian forward has scored and assisted one goal apiece in three Ligue 1 matches in the 2020/21 campaign. Even though he has been in Europe for only a few months, Toure has attracted interest from a number of clubs including Tottenham. (h/t Football.london)
However, Reims president Caillot has ruled out any departure for the teenager this summer, claiming that there is no way that the club will consider selling him only a matter of months after having signed him.
“It’s logical that this kid, who’s just turned 18, who’s exciting all the radars in Europe, means we’re being contacted.
“There’s no way a player who joined us six months ago would leave because he’s played well. Anyone can contact us but this player will be with Stade de Reims this season. He doesn’t have an exit pass.”

Tottenham have a couple of promising young forwards coming through the youth ranks currently. Troy Parrott has already made his first-team debut and is currently out on loan at Millwall. Kion Etete is another player of whom big things are expected.
Adding someone like Toure to the group would have been a smart piece of investment with an eye on the future. However, a move looks unlikely. Nevertheless, the focus currently should be on recruiting a centre-forward to provide cover for Harry Kane.
