Agent of Leon Bailey hints at PL transfer amid Tottenham interest
Speaking to the Jamaica Observer, Craig Butler, the adopted father and agent of Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, has hinted that the 23-year-old could move to the Premier League this summer.
Bailey has been with Leverkusen since January 2017, having joined from Belgian outfit KRC Genk in a deal worth €20m. The Jamaican international impressed heavily early in his career in Germany.
However, the 2019/20 campaign wasn’t Bailey’s best though, as he had troubles with injury. Bailey ended the campaign with seven goals and three assists from 33 appearances across all competitions. But, he hasn’t made it to the matchday squad for Leverkusen’s first two matches of the new season.
Bailey has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the current transfer window, with there being interest from Tottenham Hotspur as well as Everton. (h/t Sky Sports)
And now, Butler has claimed that the winger would consider leaving if opportunities aren’t forthcoming at Leverkusen. (h/t Jamaica Observer)
“He deserves the opportunity to either be given the chance to lead Bayer Leverkusen to a real fight for the championship of the Bundesliga or the opportunity to move on.”
Butler further added that Bailey dreams of playing at the highest level, hinting at a potential summer transfer to the Premier League. (h/t Jamaica Observer)
“We appreciate Bayer Leverkusen and their platform as the club continued to provide for him to do what he does best. Each professional footballer’s goal is to move to the highest level and be the best he can be.”

Bailey is a talented young player, who can grow into a top star. However, following the signing of Gareth Bale on loan from Real Madrid, it is unlikely that Tottenham would want to add another wide player to the ranks.
