PSG confident they can strike agreement with Tottenham for Dele Alli

According to The Telegraph, Paris Saint-Germain are increasingly confident about signing Dele Alli from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan deal this summer.

Alli’s future at Tottenham has become a subject of intense speculation over the past couple of weeks. The 24-year-old was subbed off at half-time in Spurs’ opening game against Everton. Following that, he was overlooked for both the subsequent games against Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Southampton.

The situation surrounding the England international has attracted the interest of French champions Paris Saint-Germain. Earlier this week, they were reported to have held talks with the representatives of Alli, over the possibility of a transfer.

And as per the latest update from The Telegraph, the last season’s UEFA Champions League runners-up are growing confident about landing the Englishman. They believe that Alli, too, is keen on securing a move away, with the European Championships coming up next summer.

Tottenham and PSG have good relations, with the former having signed Lucas Moura and Serge Aurier from the Ligue 1 champions.

And with the Parisian outfit only looking for a loan deal and not a permanent transfer, this would also suit Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, who is reluctant to offload the midfielder permanently. (h/t The Telegraph)

With the Englishman not getting regular chances, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he is open to an exit. So, if his situation doesn’t improve, a loan move might prove to be the best move for all parties involved.

However, Jose, in his pre-match presser ahead of the game against Shkendija, claimed that the Englishman is likely to stay put at the club. So, it will be interesting to see how this story develops.
