Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan set for showdown talks regarding Milan Skriniar
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan are set for showdown talks regarding Milan Skriniar.
Jose Mourinho is keen to add to a Spurs defence that is yet to keep a clean sheet this season. Tottenham also have a spot open on their roster following the departure of Jan Verhtonghen earlier this summer.
Spurs made an initial offer for the player that was rejected. They are now set to make an improved bid when the teams resume negotiations on Saturday. (h/t Express)
“I am told that over the weekend, possibly on Saturday, Tottenham and Inter will talk again about Skriniar.”
Inter were unhappy with Tottenham’s bid. Spurs are only willing to €30-35m while the Serie-A giants are keen to get around €60m. (h/t Express)
Skriniar’s price is just one factor. The deal is not easy owning the lack of time left in the transfer window. Not only are Inter seeking what they feel is a fair value, but they will need time to bring in a replacement for the Slovakian. (h/t Express)
Mourinho is a fan of the player since he was at Manchester United. Just like with Gareth Bale, he could hope to finally land him at Tottenham. (h/t Express)
Skriniar is Tottenham’s top defensive target. He is not, however, the only player on our radar. According to Romano, Chelsea outcast Antonio Rudiger is being considered as a plan B.
Skriniar is one of the best defenders in Italy. Despite having a tough time last season, at 25, he has both the age and the pedigree to become an important player at Tottenham.
