Son Heung-min travels with Tottenham squad for Manchester United clash
According to an exclusive report from Manchester Evening News, key Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min has been included in the squad for weekend’s game against Manchester United.
Son had come off injured at half-time during Tottenham’s last Premier League game against Newcastle United. The 28-year-old South Korean international missed two important games against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and Maccabi Haifa in the UEFA Europa League.
Jose Mourinho had appeared non-committal when asked if Son would be available for the big game against Manchester United at Old Trafford. (h/t Football.london)
“I don’t want to lie to you and say he doesn’t play and Sunday he’s there. At the same time I don’t want to say he plays and then he doesn’t. So let’s wait and see, at this moment, I honestly don’t know.”
However, as per the report from MEN, Son has travelled with the rest of the squad to Manchester. This will be a huge boost for Tottenham, considering the form that the South Korean was in prior to his injury.
Sonny had scored four goals against Southampton and came close to scoring more against Newcastle prior to picking up an injury. Even if he doesn’t start, him coming off the bench in the second half can cause problems to a vulnerable Manchester United defence.
