Carlos Vinicius vows to bring trophies to Tottenham Hotspur
As reported by the Evening Standard, Brazilian striker Carlos Vinicius has claimed that he wants to win trophies with Tottenham Hotspur after having signed from SL Benfica.
The 25-year-old became the latest addition to Tottenham, joining on a season-long loan from the Portuguese giants. The club paid a loan fee of £2.7m and retains the option of making the transfer permanent next summer for a transfer fee of £38.2m.
Having started his career in Brazil, Vinicius spent time at Real FC and Rio Ave in Portugal before joining Benfica last summer. The 25-year-old plundered 24 goals in his debut campaign for the club.
Having now arrived at Tottenham, the Brazilian centre-forward has vowed to help bring an end to Tottenham’s 12-year trophy drought. (h/t Evening Standard)
“I wanted to say to everyone that together we’ll taste success. I’m here to join this family to share your joy and bring home silverware.”
Tottenham Hotspur were crying out loud for a new striker considering that there was no natural backup for Harry Kane in the squad.
With the signing of Vinicius, the club has added a prolific striker, who has the potential to be a huge hit if his form from last season is something to go by.
"Now I’m here, I want to enjoy it and to bring joy to all the fans who love this club so much and support us every step of the way."#BemVindoVinícius ⚪️ #COYS pic.twitter.com/UCPik6V5EJ

It has been a brilliant transfer window for Tottenham. However, the club will look to make another signing – a new centre-back – before the transfer window closes on Monday.
Jose Mourinho usually tastes success in his second season at a club. We’re already in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. And, one wouldn’t bet against the Portuguese taking Spurs all the way in the competition.
