Inter Milan will not sell Tottenham target Milan Skriniar on deadline day
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan will not be letting go of star defender Milan Skriniar on the transfer deadline day amid serious interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
The 25-year-old Slovakian international has emerged as a top target for Tottenham with Jose Mourinho intent on bolstering the centre-back department before the transfer window shuts.
A move for the Inter Milan defender has been in the works for quite some time now, with Technical Director Steve Hitchen spotted in Italy a week ago to facilitate a transfer. However, the two clubs have been unable to come to an agreement over a transfer fee for Skriniar. (h/t Football.london)
Reports this past weekend had claimed that Tottenham were still pushing for a last-minute deal to secure the signing of the Slovakian defender.
However, Romano has provided the latest update on the story, which makes a grim reading for Spurs’ hopes of landing the centre-back. As per the journalist, Inter Milan will not consider selling Skriniar this late in the transfer window and are happy to keep him as part of their roster.
Romano further goes on to claim that the Nerazzurri are not expecting to Tottenham to make a fresh bid on the deadline day, with things quietening down completely on that front.
Inter won’t sell Milan Skriniar on last hours of #DeadlineDay and are not expecting another bid from Tottenham. It’s up to #THFC but very quiet right now. Inter are ready to keep him. ⚪️ #Spurs #transfers

It has been quite the transfer window for Tottenham up until this point. Adding another centre-back to the roster would have been the cherry on top of the cake. However, with Inter Milan not willing to sell, the club may have to look elsewhere to bolster the defensive ranks.
