Tottenham offered a chance to re-sign Christian Eriksen from Inter Milan
According to Football Insider (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur have been offered an opportunity to re-sign former playmaker Christian Eriksen on loan on the transfer deadline day by Inter Milan.
The 28-year-old joined Tottenham in 2013 from Ajax and spent six-and-a-half years at the club, during which he made he made over 300 appearances, scoring 69 goals and creating 89 more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Having entered the final year of his contract with Spurs last summer, the Danish international decided to leave in January, joining Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan.
While the Nerazzurri finished second in Serie A and made it to the finals of the Europa League, things haven’t gone all too well for Eriksen on a personal note.
The 28-year-old hasn’t been able to find his best form and as a result, has been in and out of the starting XI under Antonio Conte. This has led to speculations over his future in Italy just six months after making the move.
With Inter further bolstering their midfield unit this summer, they are now looking to trim their wage bill and have made Eriksen available on a transfer. The Danish international has been offered to a number of clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur. (h/t Football.london)

Tottenham appeared to lack creativity in the final third since Eriksen’s departure. However, Giovani Lo Celso has stepped up brilliantly of late, while Tanguy Ndombele is also living up to his potential.
And with a fired-up Dele Alli waiting in the wings to prove himself, bringing back Eriksen wouldn’t make much sense for Tottenham. A new central defender should see the end of the club’s business this summer.
