Mouscron keen on landing Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Joao Sacramento
According to Le Soir (h/t Daily Mail), Tottenham Hotspur are at risk of losing their assistant manager Joao Sacramento to Belgian side Mouscron.
The Portuguese has flourished as Jose Mourinho’s man Friday since joining the club from LOSC Lille in 2019. Holder of a Master’s Degree in Sports Coaching and Performance from the University of South Wales, Sacramento has served as a lecturer in tactical analysis and as a video analyst with the Welsh national team. Mouscron parted ways with managed Fernando Da Cruz at the weekend. They are now looking for a replacement with the Spurs assistant amongst the candidates.
The 31-year-old has seen his stock rise in recent years. Interestingly, he served under Da Cruz during his time as a caretaker at Lille.
If he does decide to take over, Sacramento could have his work cut out in trying to inspire a team who are rock bottom of the Belgian league. Mouscron are yet to win any of their nine games so far and will be in need of a massive turnaround.
With just three points on the board, they will do well to equal last season’s 10th-place finish.
Sacramento is obviously rated highly by Mourinho. The Spurs boss was effusive in his praise of his assistant, having brought him to North London last year.
While it may just be one man, we would loathe seeing someone of Sacramento’s ability to leave us. Hopefully, he will stay on and help usher in what could be a new era for Tottenham.

While losing Sacramento would not necessarily mean we will lose our way, it does make our job harder. As of now, he remains a Spurs employee and long may that continue.
