Fans react as Gareth Bale scores late winner for Tottenham against Brighton
It was a moment that Tottenham fans had been waiting for some time now and it finally happened on Sunday night. Gareth Bale, back at the club from Real Madrid, scored the first goal of his second stint with Spurs, taking us across the line against a resilient Brighton & Hove Albion outfit in the process.
The Welshman has had a slow start to life in London this term. But he finally made a huge impact after coming on as a substitute against the Seagulls. Bale looked sharp as soon as he came on in the 70th minute. With the game at 1-1, he created a chance for Harry Kane, whose effort hit the post.
Minutes later though, Bale fired Tottenham in front, heading home a cross from another ex-Real Madrid man, Sergio Reguilon to seal all three points for Spurs. The result sent Tottenham into the second place in the Premier League standings.

Get in. Not a great performance but in the end it’s the 3 points that matter. Needed that win because Graham Scott the referee was SHIT. What a nice feeling to see Bale scored for Spurs again. #COYS

Not a pretty one but those are the games we need to grind out. Brighton are playing great football at the moment and this was no easy game. Great to see Gareth get his first goal back, perfect result. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Great victory Spurs, but omg why do you make it so hard upon yourselves, you were at home you should be dominating the game, but you made it so hard, I don’t understand why you are better than this, well done Mr Bale, good to see you on the score sheet.
