Gareth Bale will start on Thursday against Ludogorets confirms Jose Mourinho
As reported by Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that star winger Gareth Bale will start against Ludogorets in the club’s UEFA Europa League game on Thursday night.
Bale returned to Tottenham this last summer on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid. And while he has found it difficult to get going, the Welshman showed his quality on Sunday against Brighton.
Coming on as a substitute, the 31-year-old headed home the winning goal just 200 seconds into his appearance, helping Tottenham move to the second place in the league.
And speaking after the game, manager Mourinho insisted that the winger is still not at his 100% in terms of fitness. However, the Portuguese added that Bale will be starting in Spurs’ third group game of the Europa League on Thursday night. (h/t Football.london)
“He doesn’t have 90 minutes in his legs yet. We are using the Europa League to get him minutes and when we can in the Premier League.
“He is of course getting better and better and better. He will start again on Thursday but he will not play 90 minutes. I will use him in the right way.”
Bale has started both of Tottenham’s Europa League matches so far. In fact, the Welsh international got an assist to his name in the opening game against LASK, although he did struggle in the defeat to Royal Antwerp.

Mourinho and the Tottenham supporters will be hoping that Bale’s goal against Brighton is a sign of good things to come. Having lost in Europe last time out, the Lilywhites will be keen to grab all three points against Ludogorets. And Bale, who will be starting, will have a key role to play.
