Tottenham Hotspur trio nominated for Premier League awards for October

According to Sky Sports, key Tottenham Hotspur trio of Harry Kane, Son Heung Min, and Jose Mourinho have been nominated for the Premier League awards for October.

It has been a stellar month for Spurs both domestically and in Europe on most counts. We won three of our four Premier League games, scoring 12 goals in the process.

This involves impressive wins away to both Manchester United and Burnley. This leaves us just two points off the top heading into this gameweek.

Both Kane and Son are deserving nominees for the Premier League player of the month. The former has already won the accolade six times while the latter has done so twice.

The duo is at the core of what has been a free-scoring Spurs attack. They have so far made 14 goals and 10 assists between them in the Premier League.

Son’s winner at Burnley last month was the 29th time the pair have combined for a Premier League goal. This places them joint-second behind former Chelsea pair Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard on the competition’s all-time list.

The eight-man player shortlist for October also includes Thiago Silva, Kyle Walker, Jack Grealish, Conor Coady, Che Adams, and Pablo Fornals.

Mourinho, meanwhile, is up for the manager of the month award. The Portuguese has already won it thrice. If he prevails, it will be his first as the manager of Tottenham.

He will be up against Nuno Espirito Santo, Ralph Hasenhuttl, David Moyes, and Dean Smith.

It is good to see our players and manager get nominated for an award they richly deserve. It remains to be seen if they will win it.

While individual awards are well and good, let’s hope their efforts pay off in us lifting silverware somewhere down the season.
