Danny Mills backs Tottenham to re-sign Christian Eriksen in a bargain deal

Speaking on Football Insider, as reported by Football.london, former Leeds United star Danny Mills has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy could move to sign ex-midfield star Christian Eriksen on a bargain deal from Inter Milan.

Eriksen spent the majority of his playing career at Tottenham, having joined the club in 2013 from Ajax. But the Danish international departed last January to join Inter Milan in a £24m deal. However, the move has failed to work out for Eriksen.

Eriksen has found himself out on the bench than on the field more often than not. Given the plethora of options at Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte’s disposal, his future at the club has been called into question, with Tottenham reported to be considering a swoop to bring him back to the club. Recent reports though, claimed that there was no such intention from the club’s part. Mills, however, is of the belief that Levy could consider re-signing Eriksen should he be available on a bargain deal. (h/t Football.london)

“If the deal is right. I’m pretty sure if Daniel Levy is getting a bargain, having made some money on him already, they’ll certainly look at it. He’s a player of quality, that knows the club inside out so there’s every chance. It would certainly be foolish to rule it out immediately.”

Eriksen has struggled to make the cut at Inter Milan. In fact, the Danish international hadn’t been quite at his best during his final days at Tottenham. So, making a move for him, even if it’s in a bargain deal, might not be the most prudent step by the club.
