Tottenham Hotspur star Erik Lamela posts an update on his injury

Tottenham Hotspur star Erik Lamela has posted a photo on Instagram showcasing his progress as he continues to recover from injury.

The Argentine clearly appears to be putting in the hard work as he plots his return to action. Lamela was missing for our recent fixtures against Ludogorets and West Bromwich Albion due to a foot issue. He will be pushing hard to ensure that he is available for some big games coming up for the North Londoners.

Compared to the pics last week, Lamela was pictured not sporting a protective boot. While it may not mean he is ready yet, it does indicate he is making progress.

While a talented player, injuries have limited his impact at the club. When on form, he is an excellent option of the bench. Having him available gives us an effective option to bring on when needed.

Erik Lamela has had bad luck with injuries at Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham faces Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal in their next three Premier League games. Europa League fixtures against Ludogorets and LASK are also sandwiched in between in what is clearly a busy fixture list.

With a number of the squad currently away on international duty with their respective countries, Lamela is at the club’s training base and working hard to return to action.

Given the way players at other clubs are falling injured, it is imperative that we have a squad to rotate. It will ensure our stars get the requisite rest in what will be a gruelling campaign.
