Jose Mourinho claims Carlos Vinicius will get chances to prove himself at Tottenham

Speaking to Sport TV, as reported by the Express, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that summer signing Carlos Vinicius will get his opportunities to make a mark at the club.

The 25-year-old striker arrived at Tottenham this past summer, signing on a season-long loan from Benfica. Spurs retain the option of making his transfer permanent at the end of the season, for a fee of £41m. (h/t The Sun)

Vinicius enjoyed a blazing debut for Tottenham, contributing with two assists in our UEFA Europa League victory over LASK in the group stages. However, he hasn’t quite taken off from that point, with Mourinho opting to ease him into action.

And, it hasn’t helped his cause that Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have been firing on all cylinders either. Elaborating on Vinicius’ situation, Mourinho insisted that the Brazilian’s chances in a Tottenham shirt will come. (h/t Express)

“Alternation is important because Harry [Kane] cannot play all the games. Vinicius will play many times, he will have the opportunity to prove the Premier League and convince Tottenham to buy.”

Till date, Vinicius has made just four appearances for Tottenham across all competitions. He made his Premier League debut in the win against West Bromwich Albion prior to the international break and made an impact from the bench.

However, the Brazilian is yet to score his first goal for us. With games coming thick and fast once players return from the international break, hopefully, we will get to see more of Vinicius and his prolific form from last season.
