Harry Kane praised by Tottenham legends after England’s defeat to Belgium
Taking to Twitter after England’s 2-0 defeat to Belgium, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder and club legend Micky Hazard has lavished praise on star striker Harry Kane.
The 27-year-old made his 50th appearance for the England national team on Sunday and was easily one of the Three Lions’ best players on the night even as they fell to a defeat.
Belgium opened the scoring through Youri Tielemans in the 11th minute, but England almost struck back immediately, with Kane’s headed effort getting cleared off the line. Jack Grealish, who was another standout for Gareth Southgate’s side went close, but Dries Mertens put Belgium 2-0 up midway through the first half.
Kane came close to scoring once again before half-time, with his effort from a tight angle getting saved by Thibaut Courtois.
And while the England captain wasn’t able to drag his team back into the game, he, along with Grealish, was head and shoulders above the rest of the team. Taking to Twitter, former Spurs midfielder Micky Hazard heaped a lot of praise on Kane, as well as Grealish.
Both been superb.

And his opinion was echoed by another Tottenham legend, Graham Roberts, who replied to Hazard’s post with the message: “Both been superb.”

Kane has begun the new campaign in tremendous form. The 27-year-old Englishman recently scored his 200th goal for Tottenham, which was followed by his 150th Premier League goal. And his 50th cap for the England national team is another feather in his cap.
While he wasn’t able to carry England to the UEFA Nations League finals, hopefully he leads us to silverware in the current season.
