Oleksandr Zinchenko could miss Tottenham clash after Ukraine squad hit with COVID outbreak
As reported by Football.london, Manchester City could be without left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko for the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. This comes after three members of the Ukrainian national team tested positive for coronavirus.
Ukraine were due to face off against Switzerland in a crunch Group A4 clash in the UEFA Nations League this evening. However, the game had to be postponed just hours before kick-off. (h/t Football.london)
It has since been confirmed that the whole Ukraine squad, that had arrived for the game, has been put in quarantine after three players – Eduard Sobol, Yevhen Makarenko and Dmytro Riznyk tested positive for coronavirus. (h/t Football.london)
With the entire squad in isolation, this could mean Zinchenko, who was also among the travelling party, might not be available for Manchester City for their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening. (h/t Football.london)
As things stand, there hasn’t been an official confirmation whether Zinchenko is definitely ruled out of the contest. However, should he be unable to make it, it will be another blow for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The Cityzens are already without summer signing Nathan Ake, who picked up an injury while on international duty with the Netherlands. In addition, Raheem Sterling is also a doubt, after having missed England’s game against Belgium last weekend. (h/t Football.london)
