RB Leipzig join Tottenham, Arsenal in Dominik Szoboszlai pursuit

According to Football Insider, as relayed by Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur will now face competition from not only Arsenal but also RB Leipzig in the race to sign Dominik Szoboszlai.

The 20-year-old came through the youth ranks at the academy of Videoton in Hungary. He made the jump to Austria in January 2018, signing for RB Salzburg and has since grown into one of the most exciting young prospects across Europe.

In 75 appearances so far for the Austrian giants, Szoboszlai has bagged 22 goals and 33 assists. He has also made twelve appearances for Hungarian national team.

A versatile operator who can play on the flanks or as an attacking midfielder, Szoboszlai has been on the radars of our rivals Arsenal for quite some time now. Of late, it has been claimed that Tottenham Hotspur, too, have shown an interest in the 20-year-old. And, now even RB Leipzig have also entered the race. (h/t Football.london)

Having frozen Dele Alli out of the squad, Jose Mourinho & co. could certainly do with another attacking midfielder in the ranks to supplement Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele.

And Szoboszlai, considering his form and versatile nature, could prove to be a valuable addition. He plundered 12 goals and 18 assists from 40 games in all competitions last season. And the 20-year-old has carried on from where he left off this term, already registering 5 goals and 9 assists in just 14 games for RB Salzburg.

This sort of goal-output would uncertainly boost our chances of ending the campaign with a trophy. However, given the competition, it might not be all that easy to land the Hungarian international.
