Tottenham handed boost in Dominik Szoboszlai pursuit as PSG drop out of race
As reported by Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of signing RB Salzburg star Dominik Szoboszlai in the January transfer window have been boosted as PSG have dropped out of the race for the midfielder.
The 20-year-old has been absolutely tearing it up in Austria over the past couple of years. After enjoying a brilliant 2019/20 season in which he produced mind-boggling numbers, Szoboszlai has been once again very impressive in the new season.
The Hungarian international’s rise to prominence hasn’t gone unnoticed with the who’s who of European football registering an interest in him, that includes Tottenham. (h/t Football.london)
French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are also among the suitors for Szoboszlai. However, Les Parisiens assistant manager Zsolt Low has played down the prospect of the club making a move for the RB Salzburg star in the near future. (h/t Football.london)
“I would be the happiest, I will tell you honestly if I had the opportunity to get Dominik and we could work together. We have a very big financial loss, hundreds of millions, which is why we could already see (in the summer) it wasn’t typical for the club to buy players for tens of millions.
“We didn’t have the opportunity to buy big stars. This could make things difficult for Dominik and, if (PSG) decided to fight for him, it would still have to transfer a few tens of millions of euros.”
Dominik Szoboszlai created 10 chances in his first 3 #UCL appearances this season, the only player who created more in the opening 3 games was Lionel Messi [13].

A star in the making, Szoboszlai has shown in this season’s UEFA Champions League that he is ready to make the step up to a bigger league. And if we do manage to land him, it will be quite the coup. With PSG ruling out a move for the time being, it does make things a bit easier but there is interest from the likes of Arsenal and RB Leipzig as well.
