Sami Khedira hints at Premier League switch amid Tottenham links

Speaking to German outlet ZDF, as relayed by the Express, Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has hinted that he could be headed to the Premier League, amid links with Tottenham Hotspur.

Khedira has been with Juventus since 2015, having joined from Real Madrid. The German midfielder tasted plenty of success with the Italians but over the past year or so, has lost his place in the side due to injury and fitness issues.

With Andrea Pirlo blessed with a plethora of options in midfield, Khedira hasn’t featured at all this season for the Bianconeri, leading to speculations over his immediate future at the club. (h/t Express)

Tottenham Hotspur are facing competition from Everton in their efforts to land Sami Khedira in the January transfer window.

Khedira, in another interview recently, insisted that he dreamt of playing in the Premier League. Now, adding onto those statements, he has claimed that a transfer to England is an option he is considering. (h/t Express)

“If the opportunity arises to move to the Premier League, that’s an option.”

The 33-year-old had also claimed that he would never turn down the opportunity to work with Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho or Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti, having spent time with both at Real Madrid. And the midfielder has now revealed that he has stayed in touch with both the managers since their departure from Madrid. (h/t Express)

“There are talks and an exchange. We never lost touch after our time together at Real Madrid.”
