Report reveals Mourinho’s reaction to being offered a chance to sign former Tottenham favourite

Jose Mourinho has no interest in re-signing Christian Eriksen

According to a report from Football Insider, as relayed by Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur were offered a chance to re-sign Christian Eriksen from Inter Milan but Jose Mourinho turned it down.

Eriksen joined Tottenham in the summer of 2013 from AFC Ajax and went on to establish himself as a key member of the side under Mauricio Pochettino. The Danish international was integral to our rise in stature as a top side in the Premier League in recent years.

However, the 28-year-old decided to leave the club last January, joining Serie A giants Inter Milan. But things haven’t gone according to plan for the playmaker in Italy. And in less than a year, Eriksen is expected to be on the move once the January transfer window opens. (h/t Football.london)

And, it is claimed that Tottenham had been offered a chance to bring back the Dane to the club. (h/t Football.london)

It is no secret that Daniel Levy tried very hard to convince Eriksen to stay before his transfer. However, the club has now turned down the chance to re-sign him, with manager Mourinho uninterested. (h/t Football.london)

With Tottenham ruling out a return for the Danish international, there is a chance that our rivals Arsenal or Manchester United could sign him. The former, especially, have been linked heavily with a move for Eriksen. And, it will certainly be interesting to see if the playmaker will be open to such a move in January.
