Davinson Sanchez urged to assess his options ahead of January by Kevin Phillips
Speaking to Football Insider, as relayed by the Express, former Premier League striker Kevin Phillips has urged Tottenham Hotspur star, Davinson Sanchez, to consider his options ahead of the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old arrived at Tottenham from AFC Ajax in 2017, in a club-record transfer at the time. And while he had been a regular in the side under former boss Mauricio Pochettino, the Colombian hasn’t had the same status under new manager Jose Mourinho.
Indeed, Sanchez is behind the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier in the pecking order, while the fact that Joe Rodon was picked over him for the game against Chelsea hints that the new signing is also in front of him.
Sanchez has featured in just four Premier League games so far but hasn’t played in the top-flight since October.
And Phillips is of the opinion that the centre-back, like fellow Spurs teammate Dele Alli, is out of favour under Jose Mourinho and needs to consider his options. (h/t Express)
“He could be heading down the same path as Dele Alli. Sanchez has been there a while now and he has had his ups, his downs and a fair share of criticism. When you see a player brought in who is younger than you, I would be slightly concerned. It does not bode well. I would consider my options come January.”

While Sanchez might not have played much in the Premier League, he has been a regular in our Europa League games. However, reports of the club targeting a new centre-back in January could lead to questions over his future.
