Hugo Lloris and Gareth Bale backed to have a key role in Tottenham Hotspur title bid
Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur are on top of the English Premier League going into the 11th matchday. It can be argued that we are in an excellent position to make an attempt to win the big prize.
A major reason for our position at the top is the form of Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min. The dynamic duo who already had an excellent understanding of each other have now taken their game up several notches.
With 16 goals and 11 assists behind them, it is no surprise as to why our duo could play a major part going forward. However, they are not the only trump cards at our disposal.
Speaking to Ladbrokes (h/t The Express), former Spurs star Paul Robinson believes Hugo Lloris and Gareth Bale will have a say in whether the title will eventually end up in North London.
“I do genuinely think they can mount a serious title challenge due to the fact that they’ve got proven winners in the dressing room.”
While Mourinho is a winner with a proven track record, the same cannot be said of the squad he inherited. Despite the clear ability of many of our players, they have never had the experience of having won the biggest trophies in football.
Success breeds success!
Lloris and Bale are hugely successful footballers. The Frenchman led his country to the World Cup in 2018 while the Welsh superstar was a part of a Real Madrid side that enjoyed success both at home and on the continental stage. Adding the know-how and experience of being successful to the squad will give us another dimension in this season’s title charge.
“Gareth Bale is a serial winner, Jose’s a born winner, we know that. Hugo Lloris is a World Cup winner; they’ve got the ability and the staying power to challenge for the title.”
Spurs have not won a trophy since 2008 and ending that barren run this season could usher in a new dawn. The club have all the tools at their disposal to ensure this season will be unlike no other in recent memory.

Mourinho has not only steadied a rocking ship since taking over from Pochettino but also gone on to make us better. We are now comfortably the best team in North London. It is time that the position extended to the whole country.
