Joe Hart could replace Hugo Lloris in goal for Tottenham Hotspur against Arsenal
According to The Telegraph, Joe Hart could replace Hugo Lloris in the starting line-up as Tottenham Hotspur take on Arsenal in the North London Derby this weekend.
The French veteran was not a part of the squad that travelled to LASK midweek. While Spurs have not confirmed if he is injured, there are major doubts regarding his availability to face the Gunners.
Signed in the summer, Hart started in goal for Tottenham against LASK. The veteran Englishman did not have the best of games and was responsible for two of the goals we conceded on the night.
The 33-year-old has not featured in the Premier League for Spurs. His last appearance in the top-flight came all the way back in January when he started in goal for Burnley against Norwich City. The Clarets lost to their opponents, who would go on to finish bottom of the league last season.
Despite the questionable form, Hart appears to be ahead of Argentine shot-stopper Paulo Gazzaniga in the Spurs pecking order. Having to step in especially for a charged match such as the North London Derby is a daunting task. Hopefully, he will be able to hold his own if needed.
Spurs have not lost in the league since opening day. An excellent run of form has seen us occupy the top spot ahead of defending champions Liverpool on goal difference.
With Toby Alderweireld also a doubt for the game, Spurs could be without two of their senior-most defensive stars this weekend. For the club with the best defensive record in the league, it would be a real test of their strength in depth.
