Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar
Speaking to Football Insider (h/t football.london), former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson said that Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar will be a welcome addition for Spurs in January.
Tottenham have previously been linked with the Slovakian centre-back and were interested in signing him in the summer.
However, Spurs found him too expensive and opted to sign Swansea City centre-back Joe Rodon. (h/t football.london)
Paul Robinson believes that Joe Rodon has done well since coming in, but Mourinho will still be looking to strengthen his team in the upcoming transfer window.
“Joe Rodon has done excellently well since he came in. It was a vital signing before the deadline but I still think Mourinho will strengthen in that area next year.”
Davinson Sanchez has been ‘frozen out’ of first-team football while Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld continue to be the club’s preferred centre-backs. (h/t football.london)
Their backups are good but inexperienced, as both Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon have a total of 10 Premier League appearances between them. In such a scenario, strengthening the team in January makes sense.
One such player linked with the club in recent times is Milan Skriniar, who Paul Robinson thinks would be a “wow” signing.
“Wow… A player that is of the level of Milan Skriniar would be a welcome addition.”

Tottenham Hotspur are at the top of the Premier League table with an impeccable defensive record which has seen us concede the least amount of goals in the league.
If Mourinho wants to
seriously challenge for the title and keep his impressive defensive record going, a signing like Skriniar would surely benefit the Portuguese manager.
