Jose Mourinho confirms private talks with unhappy star Harry Winks
As reported by the Express, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he has held private talks with Harry Winks over his future at the club.
The 24-year-old Winks has been reduced to a bit-part player this season under Mourinho. The England international has hardly been used in the Premier League with his last appearance in the top-flight coming in mid-October.
A regular in the Europa League, the last time he featured against Royal Antwerp, he was visibly unhappy when subbed off as he headed straight to the locker room.
Winks has admitted that he is concerned over the lack of playing time ahead of the European Championships in the summer next year. And, Mourinho has now revealed that the pair have held talks privately, but didn’t divulge what was spoken. (h/t Express)
“I have my office on the first floor and a little space on the ground floor by the dressing room to make it so easy for them. Yes, Winks came to speak with me, yes.”
Given the situation, Winks’ future at the club has been called into question, with reports claiming that he could be willing to move to Spain or Italy in search of regular playing time.
There has also been interest from close to home as Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton are understood be monitoring the Englishman’s services. (h/t Express)

Winks’ situation currently is far from ideal. However, given the number of games coming up, the Englishman should get his chances. And if he performs then, he can seal a place for himself in the side. Given that we are competing on multiple fronts, each and every player will have a key role to play over the course of the season.
