Dele Alli backed to turn his Tottenham Hotspur career around by Carlton Palmer
Speaking to Football FanCast (h/t Football.london), out-of-favour Tottenham star Dele Alli has been backed to turn things around at the club by former Premier League star Carlton Palmer.
The 24-year-old has been at the club since 2015 but has been at the lowest point in his career in recent months. Alli has hardly been used by Jose Mourinho this term, with most of his appearances coming in the UEFA Europa League.
Alli did make a cameo appearance against Crystal Palace this past weekend, which was just his third league appearance of the season and the first after early October.
While he didn’t have much time to make an impact at Selhurst Park, there was one moment when he showed his willingness to track back and cut off an Eagles’ attack. And Palmer believes that if he keeps up working hard off the ball, the Englishman will win Jose’s trust sooner rather than later. (h/t Football.london)
“He knows he has the ability on the ball, but he now knows what he has to do off the ball. And he’s doing that now. Dele Alli can turn his career around as simple as that. As he did on Sunday when I realised that and Mourinho’s the type of person that will give him plenty of confidence and will have told him ‘this is what I expect from you’.”

Alli’s reduced game-time has led to speculations over his future, with recent reports claiming that Tottenham are open to letting him leave in January. Despite his recent struggles, there is no denying that he has so much left to offer. So, hopefully, he is able to work his way back into Jose’s plans in the coming weeks.
